Fire and Security Techniques is a provider of specialized fire suppression equipment and systems. Founded in 1994 and located in Centurion, Gauteng, it has established itself as a leader in this area, with the result that the company expanded rapidly since inception and operates countrywide, as well as in selected regions of the African continent.
With FST’s vast knowledge of the industry and keeping abreast with the developments, we decided to embark on the manufacturing of cylinders due to the overseas supplied product no longer adhering to the quality requirements and no other cost-effective solution could be sourced.

Manufacturing Overview
Fire and Security Techniques Cylinder Manufacturing Division (FST CMD) situated in Centurion, close to the major access routes, commenced with production in June 2011. We conduct operations at this location to meet an ever-growing level of demand for quality and reliable cylinders with our workshop being ISO-9001 accredited by Intertek.
We obtained our Manufacturing Approval Certification through TUV Rheinland and Type Verification by TUV SUD.
The 6lt, 10lt, 15lt, 25lt, 45lt, 58lt, 100lt; 155lt & 175lt capacity cylinders are part of the stock items. A minimum stock level of at least 250 cylinder per group is kept.

More About Our Gas Cylinders
All cylinders are designed per SANS / ISO 4706 (manufactures of refillable welded steel gas cylinders with a test pressure of 60 bar and below) and manufactured following SANS / ISO 10019 (transportable pressure receptacles for compressed, dissolved, and liquefied gases – Basic design, manufacture, use, and maintenance).
Currently, the only gas cylinder manufacturer in South Africa with ISO 3834 certification.
These cylinders are mainly for the gaseous fire extinguishing market, but also for the refrigerant industry.
FST CMD also has approved designs for LPG gas cylinders.
With a locally manufactured vessel under pressure facility, all consumers can be assured of quality and accredited manufactured cylinders.
FST CMD conducts operations following ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

We also ensure that we comply with the various regulations and statutory requirements and our Letter of Good standing, issued by the Department of Labour, is kept up to date at all times. All the above-mentioned certificates are available on request.
