The TECO5701 is a universal extinguishing test and interface unit equipped with a test facility for use with any of Technoswitch’s extinguishing panels. This unit necessitates an external 24 V DC supply and is capable of delivering a maximum current of up to 5 A. It’s important to note that the discharge circuit current is determined by the rating of the external 24V DC supply utilised. Whilst the product should be compatible with a variety of generic fire control panels, its operation with other manufacturers’ fire detection control panels has yet to be verified.
TECO5701: Principle of Operation and Safety Features
In its standard state, the green POWER ON LED remains on, while the blue CPU Running LED flashes. If the voltage drops below 22 V DC, only the POWER ON and FAULT LEDs flash. All relays then default to safe mode, preventing discharge activation. The circuit is monitored for anomalies, with the FAULT LED indicating any issues. After discharge, the TECO5701 stays in its discharged state, halting the control panel’s return to normality until manually reset.
The unit has a TEST mode, activated via an on-board button. In this mode, LEDs illuminate, and the discharge relay responds only to an open circuit. For expansive gas setups, TECO5701 units can be daisy-chained, each needing its own 24 V DC supply.
